Border Crossings And Visas
Tourists arriving in Northern Cyprus land at Larnaca Airport, in the southern part of the island. From there cross the border to the northern part of the island. The transition at the border between the southern part and the northern part is usually simple and will not take much of your time except in cases of large groups waiting to cross.
For those who prefer to land at ERCAN airport located about 40 km from the city of Famagusta in Northern Cyprus, they will travel from Israel to Istanbul and from there to northern Cyprus. We can get this stamp at Larnaca airport at the passport control after landing.
It is important to note that the most convenient way to get to Northern Cyprus is by a direct flight to Larnaca and from there a drive through the border crossings.

Visas
Upon landing in Larnaca we will receive a tourist visa for a 90-day stay in the southern part. At the border crossing to Northern Cyprus we will receive an additional residence visa which is also given for 90 days.
When renting a car in the southern part of the island, it has to be considered that you must check with the rental company that it is indeed possible to enter Northern Cyprus with their cars. If so, compulsory insurance must be purchased at the border crossing to Northern Cyprus at a cost of about 25 euros and valid for 30 days. From our experience, it is better to get to Northern Cyprus and rent a car there. Prepare yourself for driving on the left, as is the practice in the UK. No international license is required, the Israeli license card is also valid here.
