Sun, sea and sand. Northern Cyprus has many great beaches.

Most hotels along the coast have their own private beaches, where you can relax and soak up the rays. Even if you are not a hotel resident, you can usually pay a daily entrance fee to visit the beach and use the hotel facilities such as sun loungers, parasols, toilets and restaurants. Many beaches also offer additional activities such as scuba diving, jet skiing or cycling. If you enjoy adventure and want to find a pretty secluded beach you can rent a car and drive along the beach to find the perfect place.

 

 


Popular beaches in Northern Cyprus

 

Acapulco Beach

Acapulco Beach is located a few miles east of Kyrenia. On the main road, look for the sign that turns left when you reach the bend in the road as it turns right and up towards the mountains. As you walk on the left down the coastline, look for the ornate and large gate that is the main gate to the Acapulco Hotel complex. As a visitor you will be asked to pay an entrance fee, but the beach is one of the best in Cyprus and if you are visiting outside the peak season it should not be too busy. In the complex you will also find the usual facilities as well as a huge swimming pool and water slides.

 

 

Camelot Beach

Camelot Beach is located 8 kilometers west of Kyrenia in the town of Alsace. This beach is great for families and young children as it has its own breakwater, which means that even if the rest of the sea with big waves, the sea on this beach should be quite calm. Since the beach is run by a local university, the prices are quite reasonable. It has shower / toilet facilities, parasols and sun loungers on the beach, or you can also sit on the checked wooden chairs. The beach has a restaurant and bar that plays live music at night and the club is open until late hours.

 

 

Denizkizi (Mermaid) Beach

Another beach located west of Kyrenia. Located about a mile and a half west of Kyrenia and well-marked and easy to find. The beach is part of the Denizkizi hotel complex, but visitors can visit the beach or the large outdoor swimming pool and facilities for a fee. The beach has a restaurant with toilet facilities, and you can also pay for activities such as scuba diving, banana boat trips, boating or jet ski rental.

 

 

Escape Beach & Club

Escape Beach Club is just a mile away from Kyrenia. It is a gentle rounded beach with golden sand, beautiful and very family friendly as the sea is quite shallow and you will find all the facilities you would expect toilets, showers, restaurant and ample private parking for your rental car. The club restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. In the summer season the club becomes one of the best nightlife places where you can party outside in the wee hours of the night. The club is open on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

 

 

Karpaz Beach

Karpaz Beach is located along the Karpaz Peninsula which is quite untouched and is considered pristine. You will not find sunbeds, toilets or restaurants on this beach, but what you will find is a long stretch of golden sand and peace and quiet. This beach can be found by driving in the village of Dipkarpas towards Zafer Burnu (Zapper Point or Cape Apostolos Andreas) which is the northeastern point of Cyprus.

 

 

Glapsides Public Beach

Gulfside Beach can be reached by driving on the main road to Famagusta from Nicosia. Located about 2.5 miles north of Famagusta. This is one of the most popular beaches around the city. Glapsides is a long sandy beach with shallow water. There are various facilities including a restaurant, bar, shop, showers, sun loungers with parasols and water sports. During the weekends of the summer season, the bar becomes very lively where you can party until morning.

 

Iskele Long Beach

Without a doubt one of the most popular beaches in Cyprus. From a place to the shores of the city of Famagusta. With white sand and a quiet and comfortable sea, enjoy a relaxing and refreshing stay experience. On the beach you will find sun loungers, bars and excellent restaurants. There is a promenade along the beach and play areas for children.

 

 

 

Silver Beach

Located at the southern end of the ancient Salamis ruins. It is a great beach for swimming and snorkeling and the shallow water makes it safer for children. This beach does not have many facilities, but you will find a cafe where you can order snacks and drinks.
